On March 4, the War Museum presented a photo exhibition, "Steel Valor," dedicated to the second anniversary of the 44th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The event opened with a moment of silence, a symbolic gesture to honor all those who defend Ukraine at the cost of their own lives.

In his speech, Director General of the Museum, Yurii Savchuk, stressed the importance of documenting modern history through the art of photography.

Colonel Valerii Kashchyshyn, the brigade commander, highlighted that the unit was formed in the midst of war. He stated that the soldiers not only follow orders but also contribute to writing new chapters in the history of the struggle for independence every day. "Society must recognize this effort, understand its significance, and support our soldiers," he emphasized.

Oksana Hryhorieva, the Gender Advisor in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, highlighted the significance of the mental aspect of war as portrayed in the exhibition. She stated, "These photos not only showcase the strength and professionalism of the military, but also their humanity, brotherhood, and mutual support."

The exhibition curator, Iryna Kotsabiuk, noted that "Steel Valor" symbolizes the strength of armored vehicles and the resilience, character, and indomitability of the fighters. "Behind each photo is a specific story; behind each successful combat mission are people who make the impossible possible," the researcher emphasized.

The author of the idea of the exhibition, the Head of the brigade’s communications department, Lieutenant Anastasia Shevchenko, conducted a tour for the guests. She spoke in detail about the moments captured in the photographs, focusing on the symbols of unity and strength of the spirit of Ukrainian soldiers. One of the most impressive exhibits at the exhibition showcased pictures depicting the combat operations of tank crews. A direct participant in these events, a mechanic for the Leopard tank, spoke about his experiences. The Defender, known by the call sign "Gioconda," shared his insights and reflections.

We invite you to visit the photo exhibition "Steel Valor" and see war as it is: without embellishment, but with unwavering faith in victory.
