"Kyiv Carol" near the Motherland Monument

Interactive events / 27 December 2024

The good news and the best traditional carols were heard on the Pechersk hills at the foot of the Motherland Monument for the first time.

The Kyiv Carol community members performed Ukrainian folk carols and recited modern salutes to Victory over the enemy. The carolers held Christmas stars, while our "Motherland" bore a sword and a shield adorned with a Trident.

Kyiv Carol is a voluntary and independent association of children and adults who share knowledge and experience in caroling, promoting Christmas folk traditions in a modern metropolis.

The community has been gathering for seven years to research and study song heritage while creating new carols relevant to the present. The most challenging and vital time for carolers is the two-month preparation leading up to Christmas. Participants travel to central squares and landmarks in Kyiv to share the news of the Savior’s birth.

We sing and ask God that Victory may come,

should everyone help.

Christ is Born!

Let us Praise Him!
